Gus is a young Sheppard mix male. We think he
is only one to two years old. Gus plays very well
with other dogs, although he can be bit vocal.
Gus would do well with just the right cat, but is
easily intimidated by them. Gus is a very loving
and affectionate dog, but will need a home that
will give him love and patience as he learns to
trust his new owners, as he is very timid around
strangers and quick movement. To make

Poor Alice had to endure the humiliation of
being called Lincoln until it was discovered
that he is a she. You can see from her
expression that she's still a bit miffed.

In March, we adopted out the sweetest little puppy, a six-
month-old black Lab named Sammie. Sadly, Sammie was
hit by a car shortly after moving into her new home. Her
adoptive family took her to the vet who had to amputate a
back leg. Because Sammie then had special needs (like
learning to run and climb stairs without a leg), the family
returned her to the Pet Connection. Since then, Sammie's
been boarding at Feisty Fido Dog Training, Inc.,whose
owner has been working with her every day with great
success and describes her as "a wonderful, wonderful
dog." Sammie's acing obedienceschool, is house-trained,
and plays very well with other dogs. She just tires easily
since her eight-month-old rambunctiousness is
supported byonly three legs. For more information or to
