Lander Pet Connection
Barn cats are feral or semi-wild cats
that are happiest living at a ranch,
farm, horse stable, warehouse, or other
outdoor location. Although they're called
"Barn Cats," they don't really need a
barn. They're happy with almost any
shelter.
Barn cats make wonderful helpers
because they safely rid farmers and
ranchers of rodents. Rodents harbor
tapeworms and parasites that infect
other animals . Hantavirus is
life-threatening to humans and can be
present in deer mice droppings.
Rat poisons are unsafe since they are
highly toxic and can kill other animals
that find them just as tasty as the
rodents do.
By giving a home to some hard-working
barn cats, you can solve your rodent
problem and your whole family can enjoy
the fun-loving cats.
Feral cats often lead tragic lives,
starving or becoming the victims of
hungry animals. Because they are wild,
they usually cannot become house cats.
However, with a nice, safe barn, a kind
human partner, and tasty cat food, they
can thrive.
The Pet Connection is beginning a registry of kind souls who want to find homes for feral cats and other good people who can provide those homes. If you are We'll try to match you with your "opposite number."
Call us at 330-5200 or email us at petconnection40@yahoo.org
Unfortunately, the Pet Connection does not have funds to rescue feral cats but we can help with the cost of spaying or neutering.
