We have several Wish Lists on different platforms - these items range from our essential items that we use every day, to the toys and treats that make our shelter pets’ lives more enriched and comfortable during a stressful time in their lives. When you’re shopping on Amazon or Chewy, please think of our shelter dogs and cats and donate an item to make their stay at LPC as happy as possible!

Community Outreach Wish List

This list is is specifically for community assistance - we love helping pets stay with their people! If we can help provide the resources the pets need to stay happy and healthy in their home, and avoid having them come into a stressful shelter setting, that is often the best case scenario for the pets. Help us stock our community pantry!

We are so happy to say that we are saving more lives than ever before thanks to the help of this wonderful, animal-loving community! THANK YOU! Here are some other ideas for you to help Lander’s only animal shelter.

Have a food/supply drive at your school or business.

Perhaps instead of birthday presents, you collect dog toys and food for homeless shelter pets.

Have a lemonade stand and raise money for pet food for the animals of LPC. Better yet, bring an adoptable dog to your lemonade stand and find them a home!

Other Donations

The LPC appreciates the thoughtfulness and generosity of our animal-loving community! Unfortunately, we have limited storage; therefore, the LPC does not accept the following items:

  • Plastic bowls (we cannot sanitize these)

  • Cat litter boxes

  • Sheets

  • Pillows

  • Human clothing

  • Pet clothing

  • Expired food

  • Frozen food

  • Rawhide

  • Retractable leashes

  • Used cat trees

  • Children toys (including stuffed animals)

  • Prescription medications of any kind

Dog and Cat Food:

We DO accept opened bags of dog and cat food to distribute to hungry animals in need in our community!

We DO accept dog and cat treats, even opened bags! If you are interested in baking them, please get in touch with us first so we can approve the ingredients.

The food we use at the shelter for shelter dogs is Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice (NOT low calorie/weight loss!), and the food we feed our cats is Purina One Cat Food. We do mix this with donation food from unopened bags.
