Local Resources

  • Lander Spay and Neuter specializes in TNR (Trap Neuter Return) of feral and community cat populations specifically in Lander. LSN also offers vouchers for LOW-INCOME spay and neuter for Lander pets. Dr. Lannie Hamilton is the face of LSN as well as the advising veterinarian for Lander Pet Connection.

LSN is such a critical resource in our community. Many felines in the Lander area are too feral for home life (and therefore cannot be placed through Lander Pet Connection) but LSN’s work helps to control the population in a humane and effective manner. When stray kittens and cats are found that are human-friendly, LSN and LPC work together to vet and find loving homes for them.

  • The Animal Adoption Center offers free spay and neuter as well as vaccinations to tribal members’ cats and dogs at their mobile clinics twice annually. This is an incredible resource in our community and we encourage any qualified individual to take advantage of these services. If you need help getting your pets to these clinics, please contact us at the Lander Pet Connection.

  • Lander Valley Animal Hospital is our go-to veterinarian in our area. Dependable vet care is absolutely critical for running a shelter. LVAH offers services to Lander Pet Connection at a heavily discounted rate and every year they ultimately donate thousands of dollars worth of superior vet care to our shelter. We are so thankful to LVAH for helping us with the cats and dogs in our care day in and day out and recommend them to anyone seeking vet care.

  • The Stock Doc is located in Riverton and also supplies our area with superior vet care. We are so thankful for the discounted spay and neuter services they provide for Lander Pet Connection. The Stock Doc offers FREE spay and neuter to tribal members through the Animal Adoption Center, as well as discounted spay and neuter for low-income individuals. We are so thankful that these resources exist in our community!

  • Countryside Veterinary Service recently opened in Riverton and we are so glad to have them as a resource. As you may know, vet care is hard to come by in our area. Countryside graciously provides us with discounted vet care and spay/neuter surgery as well.

  • Based in Lander, Christi Chapman provides positive and creative solutions in training your pet that fit your unique situation.

  • Aska's Animals Foundation, located in Victor, ID, serves as a vital haven for new mama dogs, providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to raise their homeless pups until they are ready for adoption. This unique facility not only focuses on the care of these animals but also offers valuable behavioral and training resources for pet owners. Their website features an array of instructional videos designed to assist in training and addressing potential behavioral issues within the home, making it a comprehensive support system for both dogs and their new families.
